Hey guys,
So today’s post is going to be a little different. I’m not going to be talking about Ventilators (which is a medical device that BMETS look after), but rather I am going to do some venting.
Firstly, I just finished my last midterm, and I think I deserve a break, play some video games, go out for a celebratory dinner, have a G&T, right??
Wrong. Here comes the second wave of midterms, and it starts next week.
I knew before coming to BCIT that the amount of workload is insane, but I’m seriously still surprised by the amount of work that is put on the students. I’ve been here for a year already, yet my brain is still not used to the workload.
Here is a glimpse of what my October looked like, and what my November will be like:
——————————————————————————————————————-
1st wave of midterms
First week of October: 3 midterms
Second week of October: 1 midterm, 1 practical
Third week of October: 1 midterm
Fourth week of October: 1 midterm
First week of November: “Break” (Not really one…gotta study)
2nd wave of midterms
Second week of November: 2 midterms
Third week of November: 2 midterms, project due
Fourth week of November: 2 midterms, 1 practical
Finals
Starting December: Finals, Oral exam
——————————————————————————————————————-
Isn’t that a disgusting schedule??? I thought the definition of a ‘midterm’, as the name implies, occurs once in the middle of the term. Take the above schedule and throw in some quizzes, some assignments, and 7 labs per week (which equates to 7 pre-lab work, 7 lab reports weekly), and we have the ultimate anti-social schedule.
On the bright side, as of right now, I can say that I am passing all my courses. I just hope I can still say that by the end of the semester.
I’ll try to do more ‘fun things’ and keep you guys posted but bear in mind, that I have a lot on my plate haha.
Don.
